Early Learning Centre

Welcome to Bethany ELC, where children are nurtured to belong and become who God has created them to be. Our Centre opened in 2017 after many years of planning and consideration about how our school community can best engage with children prior to starting their formal schooling. We believe that we are educating for eternity and so our program is guided by the philosophy: CARE, CREATE, CHALLENGE and CHANGE.
Our program is play-based and intentionally designed to nurture children socially, emotionally, spiritually, physically, culturally, and academically, in a caring Christian environment.

Children have the opportunity to participate in a variety of specialist activities and experiences including: nature play, art, literacy and numeracy programs, music, physical education, access to the school library, Indonesian language, and other special events within the Bethany Christian School community.

The Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF) is the foundation of our curriculum, which supports children to become independent and confident learners. We also explore individual strengths and interests to drive our shared learning and projects. Our daily routine is flexible with some elements of predictability to create safety and to build self-regulation.
Our day consists of indoor and outdoor activities, intentional play, structured large and small group times, as well as opportunities for reflection. We value all children and provide opportunities for building confidence, resilience and a sense of community. We have a wonderful and diverse team of teachers and co-educators who take great pride in creating an inviting and engaging environment for children, their families and the wider community.
