Bethany Christian SchoolMENU
Welcome to our Week 3 newsletter! Our students continue to settle into new routines, and we are taking time to establish clear expectations that support learning through strong relationships. Our vision to excel in Christian education and character is a long‑term journey, and we truly appreciate your partnership as we work together toward this goal.
Thank you to those who were able to attend the Meet the Teacher Evening last week. It was wonderful to see so many families connecting with teachers as we begin the year together, especially as we roll out the Toddle app. Our teachers are on a steep learning curve, and your support as they get familiar with this new tool is greatly appreciated. We do have a wonderful community at Bethany where we value learning together.
Traffic Management Reminder
Thank you for your patience during drop‑off and pick‑up times. We would like to remind everyone of the traffic management plan established with Temple Christian College last year.
The main issue we are currently seeing is cars arriving very early for pick‑up, which blocks the flow of traffic. Please aim to arrive at pick‑up time rather than early—this helps keep traffic moving smoothly and safely for everyone.
Wyten Sports Centre
We now have full use of our new Wyten Sports Centre—and it is amazing!
The bouldering wall has become a favourite, and the undercover/indoor spaces have already proven incredibly valuable on extreme‑weather days.
Cross Country
Last Friday we held our Cross-Country event. The cooler weather made for a very enjoyable day for our students. Congratulations to our winners, Meshach, and also to all those who didn’t think they could but through perseverance were able to persist to finish the event! Well done!
Upcoming Events

Easter Celebrations
This year we will celebrate Easter during chapel times in Week 9, Wednesday 1 April, and we warmly welcome you to attend these special services.
Because Easter creates two short weeks at the end of the term, please note:
Thank you once again for partnering with us as we continue to learn together and excel in Christian education and character—inspiring greatness, serving communities, and impacting nations.
God bless you,
Wendy Matear
Principal
God loved the people of this world so much that he gave his only Son, so that everyone who has faith in him will have eternal life and never really die.
John 3:16
Welcome to week 3 of term 1. It has been so great to have such a settled start to the year. It was fabulous to see everyone at the Meet the Teacher Evening. Now that we are in week 3, we are over halfway through our Establishment Phase, where students and teachers concentrate on how the classroom operates, and the expectations of the classroom are established.
A friendly reminder that we are in summer uniform for Terms 1 and 4. The uniform requirements can be found on our school’s uniform policy and on the information sent out early this term. Please encourage your child to leave their jewellery at home so that it can be something special for weekend wear. Some forms of jewellery pose potential health, safety and school image problems. It is for this reason that these types of jewellery are not to be worn at school, or have limitations placed upon the wearing of them. Bethany Christian School provides a safe environment that promotes positive, healthy and safe learning and play. The following restrictions exist whilst at school or whilst involved in school related activities:
Reminders about your child’s uniform will be sent out via Toddle. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact your child’s teacher.
A huge shout of thanks goes out to all of our courteous parents who operate thoughtfulness and care when driving in our school car parks and around the neighboring streets. Our conduct in our suburb reflects the character we want to see in our students, which is one of safety, respect and partnership. Please remain vigilant when parking in our surrounding streets. Avoid blocking our neighbours, as they also need to access their driveways and streets, and it makes it exceptionally difficult if our cars are blocking cars from entering or exiting their own homes. Kindness costs nothing but makes such big impact. I do wish you and your families a restful weekend and a blessed week ahead.
God bless you,
Deb Clifford & Melissa Taylor
Deputy Principals
Our Years 3–6 Athletics Day is fast approaching!
We’re excited for a fantastic day where our Primary students can come together, enjoy some friendly competition, and showcase their developing athletic skills.
The event will be held on Friday 6th March (Week 5, Term 1), with Friday 20th March scheduled as the back-up date. Activities will take place on the school oval and Fairbanks Drive Reserve.
Families are invited to attend. All visitors will be required to sign in at various sign in points including the first aid area, front office or gates on the oval upon arrival.
Students will compete in age groups determined by their year of birth:
2018 | 8-year-olds
2017 | 9-year-olds
2016 | 10-year-olds
2015 | 11-year-olds
2014 | 12-year-olds
While the day is designed to ensure everyone has the opportunity to participate and enjoy themselves, performances will also assist in the selection of our SAPSASA and SACSA Athletics squads. Students hoping to be considered are encouraged to give their very best effort.
We will be using the online platform ReadyGo for live house scoring throughout the day. There is no need to create an account — a guest code will be provided closer to the event so families can access all relevant information.
Additional details will be shared via the Sports Event Page and parent broadcasts as the date approaches. Please keep an eye out for further updates.
We look forward to a wonderful day of energy, enthusiasm, and school spirit.
In perfect conditions, we held our annual Cross-Country Run, Jog or Walk event on Friday 13th February. It was a fantastic and highly successful day, with all students demonstrating tremendous effort and maintaining a positive attitude throughout.
Students participated according to their age group, completing distances of 1km, 2km, or 3km, either walking, jogging or running.
Congratulations to Meshach, this year’s overall winning team, followed by Abednego in second place and Shadrach in third.
Thank you to everyone who attended on the day and for your support in the lead-up to the event. A special thank you to all who were involved in organising and running the day, helping to make it both enjoyable and successful.
