Week 9Term 42019

From the Principal

As the 2019 school year draws to a close, we have continued to finish with many wonderful celebrations. Our students were incredible in the ways that they presented themselves and finished the year well.

Our Brilliance Exhibition was a wonderful success with our Year 3, 4, 5, and 6 students working together to present a range of products that showed their brilliance, creativity and talents. We encouraged them to shine and they certainly continued to exceed my expectations. I hope that you enjoyed the opportunity to experience the many and varied products that your children created.

Our ELC students presented their musical, ‘Everyone loves a baby’. It was amazing to see how much they have grown over the year and I thoroughly enjoyed their performances. We are very excited to welcome them into our school environment next year.

Our Year 6 students had their graduation ceremony on Tuesday night. They looked amazing and it was a wonderful reminder of the years gone by as we saw photographs of them throughout their time here with us at Bethany.   I am reminded of the saying “it takes a village to raise a child” and I know that the staff of Bethany Christian School see it as a privilege to work with you in helping your children to learn and grow.

I would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone who works and volunteers at our school. We have a very dedicated team and it is wonderful to work together as a team for the benefit of students.

We congratulate Mr Tothill who welcomed a new daughter Matilda (Tilly) to his family last Friday.

This newsletter includes a list of our teachers for 2020 to help you know the name of every class. We have numbers of changes that will provide wonderful opportunities for creativity in 2020. We farewell Dr Suzi Pedler from the Diverse Learning Coordinator role. Suzi has brought so much experience and care to our team and we wish her well as she takes up a full-time role working as a medical practitioner. We also thank Mrs Emily Bondarenko as she leaves us to have a baby early in the New Year. Emily has worked tirelessly to ensure that our ELC continues to be an excellent learning experience and Mrs Rachael Chesson and Mrs Rebecca Thomson will share the leadership role in 2020.

The newsletter contains a number of important dates to help to know when school returns, our OSHC dates, the new uniform opening times and online ordering links and other events like Meet the Teacher Night to help you to prepare for all that is ahead.

We have included a range of photographs for you to enjoy and we trust that you will have a blessed Christmas and a safe New Year. Please be careful on the roads as you travel about and take time with your children to create some good memories together.

“The Lord bless you and keep you; the Lord make his face shine on you and be gracious to you; the Lord turn his face toward you and give you peace.” Numbers 6:24-26 (NIV)

Merry Christmas
