Bethany Christian SchoolMENU
Welcome to week 9!
It has been a busy week with two year levels going on excursions. On Thursday our Year 2s went on excursion to the Adelaide Museum to visit the Aboriginal Cultures Gallery. On Friday, the Year 1s will visit the Zoo so that they could observe animal enclosures as part of learning about animal facts. Excursions are such a rich part of learning, and we are so grateful for all of the parent and friend helpers who were able to volunteer their time to support our students. If you would like to become a school volunteer, please come and speak to our Administration staff at the Front Desk. If you require a Working With Children Check (WWCC), let our staff know at the Front Desk, and they will be able to assist you with the process.
The SRC will hold their Casual day &/or Crazy Hair Fundraiser on Friday 28th. The proceeds of the fundraiser will go towards building the Hope School library, which includes setting up a computer for borrowing the library books. A team of teaching staff will travel to Sumatra to support the teachers at Hope Village School by providing training, and to help them set up the library. As the fundraiser will be held on the day the Year 1s go to the Zoo, they set up a Crazy Sock day, where they can rock their crazy socks at the zoo! So much fun!
On Wednesday 26th of June, our School Choir performed a live concert, showcasing all of the fantastic work they have done this term. They have been working tirelessly to learn their pieces and I know they very much appreciated performing to their audience. Well done, Bethany Choir!
Next week our Year 1 & 2s will be attending swimming lessons at the Parafield Gardens Swim Centre. This week is always a favourite of the students. What a great opportunity to talk about the experiences of swimming with your child when they get home.
Next term, Monday 22nd July is a pupil free day, as our staff are attending the Christian Schools Association (CSA) Conference. Camp Australia OHSC will be open. Please contact them should you require their services to look after your children on this day.
It has been a very cold start to winter. I pray that you will all stay warm and well. I also pray that the school break will be a wonderful opportunity to spend time with your family.
God bless you,
Deb Clifford
Deputy Principal

On Friday 14th June we had a visit from the Nova 919 Friday Live @ Your School team who broadcasted live from our school. Jodie and Hayesy were here from 6am until 9am. There were lots of giveaways, some games, a coffee van and a visit from a Socceroo. We also won $500 from Puratap for hosting the event.
The event was well supported by our school community and everyone enjoyed the fun and activities. Thank you to the Fagan family for nominating our school.
Please remember to check the Lost Property tubs located in the Undercover area in front of the Indonesian room. We have a large number of unclaimed uniform items. We would like to clear away as much lost property before the end of term.
Also, please remember to label all uniform items.

It was a privilege to coach the Year 3/4 BCS boys' soccer team at this year’s SACSA tournament. The team started the day with a hard-fought draw, followed by a 3-0 win, then two dominant victories of 10-0 and 11-0, and finished with another well-contested draw. In his role as captain, Cooper J’s leadership, positivity, and constructive feedback, kept the team determined, focused and inspired. Every player made a significant contribution, with multiple players making their mark on the scoresheet and a formidable defence that maintained a perfect record throughout the tournament, conceding no goals. Thanks, must go to the many family members who came out to support us on the day.

It was a fantastic day overall with the girls playing some fantastic soccer throughout the day only losing one of six games. They were competitive and played with great sportsmanship each game, encouraging each other and celebrating with one another after each victory. They kept a positive attitude across the whole day and were humble with each victory. Great work girls, I was really proud of the effort that you put in each game and the way that you embraced the challenges and took them head on. Well done!

It was a privilege to coach the Year 5/6 BCS boys' soccer team at this year’s SACSA tournament. The team competed well throughout the day, finishing with 2 wins, 2 losses, and a draw. Throughout each toughly contested match, the players consistently gave their all and battled until the final whistle. After a challenging loss in their second to last game, the team regrouped and showcased immense grit and determination, finishing the tournament with an impressive 3-0 victory. This tournament provided each player with the opportunity to learn about themselves and to grow in a unique competitive context. Thank you to all of the family members who came out to support us on the day.

The Year 5/6 soccer girls played exceptionally well in such a short time they were together, showcasing their skills and teamwork on the field. Their attendance at training paid off, as they executed plays with precision and communicated effectively during matches.
