Bethany Christian SchoolMENU
Welcome to our Week 9 newsletter, our final newsletter for Term 1. This week we celebrated Easter a little early through our chapel times. It was lovely to see students sharing this important event through story, drama, songs, movement, and visual arts. We hope that you enjoyed seeing your children shine as they participated in our Easter Chapels this week. Thank you for your support in attending or watching this special celebration. The recording of the event will remain online over the next 3 weeks so that you can enjoy watching them throughout the Easter long weekend. We will also share some Easter activities that you can enjoy as a family.
Parent Teacher Interviews are on this Thursday and next Tuesday evening. Please make sure that you take this time to catch up with your child’s teacher. It is a 10-minute time slot so please arrive a little early to make sure that we can run on schedule.
Our Year 3 and Year 4 students have swimming lessons next week. Swimming is an essential safety skill in Australia, and I would encourage you to support your children to participate in developing their ability to stay safe around water. The new sports facility is taking shape with two successful concrete pours and two more to go. We really appreciate the way you have navigated the changes in traffic flow and your patience in and around the school.
The SRC are holding a Pyjama/Casual Day this Friday 4th of April. They have decided to raise money for sand play tables for our junior primary, giant games and to donate to Hope Village library. This is a gold coin donation. Please see the flyer included in this newsletter for more information.
Our last day of school this term finishes at 3:10pm on Friday 11th April, followed by two weeks of school term break. Term 2 starts on Tuesday 29th April. If you need care for you children, vacation care is available and OSHC is open on Monday 28th April.
I pray that you have a restful school break, and we look forward to seeing your children ready for learning next term.
God bless you,
Wendy Matear
Principal

As per the swimming center policy, you must not swim for 2 weeks after gastro symptoms have ceased.

Camp was awesome. It was really fun. My favourite activity was laser skirmish because it was outside and you got to run behind wooden boards. Tube sliding was another great activity because you got to slide down a big hill on tubes and get sprayed with water. I was proud of myself for getting across the rope swing with water underneath. The labyrinth maze was really fun because we got to do it in the dark and me and Elouise were one of the first students out. Overall, I loved Year 5 camp and I can’t wait for Year six camp next year.

Our Year five camp was amazing. I love the rope swing. I fell in the water, but it was still so much fun and cold. Another favorite activity was the tube slides. It was fun going down the slide with all my friends and teachers. Laser skirmish was definitely my favourite because I got to shoot everyone and it was the only time I get to shoot the teachers. The food was yummy especially the lasagne that was delicious with the yummy cheese on top. We wish camp would just go for longer. It was so much fun.
