Bethany Christian SchoolMENU
Welcome to our newsletter for Week 3 of Term 2 and also welcome back to our Year 6 students and staff who returned from camp on Friday. It was wonderful to hear about the broad range of fun and challenging learning experiences that took place. This week we held our school photographs which capture a moment in time for our children. I know that as a parent I look back on my own children’s schooling and see the growth that took place for them. What a privilege we have to equip the next generation for service in our world.
Next week our Year 5 and Year 6 students have their swimming lessons each day. Later in the term, our Year 1 and Year 2 students have theirs so please make sure that you return the appropriate forms and if you have further questions, speak to your class teacher.
On Friday 7th June we have a pupil free day. This is to enable our staff to continue in their professional learning. The Friday leads up to the King’s birthday public holiday on Monday 10th June. This is a wonderful opportunity to set aside some time to rest and spend some time together as a family. OSHC is available on Friday 7th June if your child requires care on that day.
This term we have National Reconciliation Week and NAIDOC Week celebrations. We believe that God’s intention for our school is to be a place where all humans flourish in connection with one another and with God. Jesus is our greatest role model showing us how to love, lead and serve people.
A big congratulations to Emily Bondarenko, our ELC Director, on the birth of her second daughter Ella Grace who was born earlier this month.
We have mentioned the mychristianschools.au website to you and are excited to announce that South Australia will be hosting a “Faith in our Future” event. This event is to show that we really value our Christian community and the important and unique ways we express our faith to decision makers in government. The event is open to all who want to support Christian schooling and will be a time where people share stories of the impact of Christian schools. It will be held on Wednesday 12th June 7pm at Tyndale Christian School, Salisbury East campus. We will give you more information and I encourage you to be a part of this evening if you can.
I would like to thank you for your ongoing support as we learn together to excel in Christian education and character, inspiring greatness, while serving communities and impacting nations.
God bless,
Wendy Matear
Principal
Therefore, since we have been made right in God's sight by faith, we have peace with God because of what Jesus Christ our Lord has done for us.

Year 6 camp of 2024 was an absolute blast and such an amazing experience. This year we went to Mylor Adventure Camp and had a chance to participate in many activities including archery, raft building, bridge building, flying fox, giant swing and many more. The food served was delicious and the dorms were nice and tidy. At night we enjoyed a nice, warm fire and roasted marshmallows and played games. We sang and danced around the large fire also, it was amazing. I'm so sad it had to end. The sunset was beautiful and we had amazing views from the dorms and the activities too. We went on a night walk and saw a beautiful waterfall and animals. We slid down slides and crawled through mud. You may think this is disgusting but it’s really not, camp is about doing stuff you don’t usually do and Year 6 camp might be the only time you get to do these activities! Yes camp may be challenging and chaotic but we all had a blast. It was a great time to relax, get out of your comfort zone, build relationships and most of all make lasting memories that will last a lifetime!

After sold out events in Brisbane, Sydney and Perth, we are excited to announce that we've locked in a date and venue for a Faith In Our Future event in Adelaide.
These events have been an incredible celebration of the value of the Christian faith of teachers and staff. Our political representatives have heard powerful stories about the difference that our faith makes for students, their families and our nation.
